Fiumalbo

Fiumalbo is located in the high Modena Apennines, on the border with Tuscany.
The main center of the town, rises in a wide and very sunny valley both in the colder seasons and in the warmer ones, at the confluence of the Rio Le Motte (Rio San Francesco) and Rio Acquicciola, which delimit the old historical center.

The municipality of Fiumalbo has obtained the environmental tourist quality mark, the orange flag, that the Italian Touring Club addresses to small towns in the hinterland that are able to stand out for the excellence of the offers and for the extraordinary and very high quality reception.

In fact, the historic center of Fiumalbo, has maintained its peculiarities that have always characterized it, such as the use of slate stone for roofing or the fortress that continues over the centuries to watch over the town, from the top of its knoll.
